This was a beautiful experience we are from Winnipeg and come out here every summer for family. This was the first time we tried eating here and right from the moment we walked in and the wonderful young lady who served us this amazing food it was something we will remember. Take the time to eat here you will be very happy
Food is great. Staff at the front door not so much. We showed up and were told 20 min for a table. No problem. Texted our friends to meet us. 2 mins later we were told an hour bc it would be to much work for the kitchen. Sorry to make you work for my money. I will spend it somewhere where they dont mind working for their money. Disgraceful.
Deceptive..............Porta Romano is in a small strip-type mall, so I had no real expectations. Therefore, imagine my surprise, after assessing the place, and realizing how cozy the space actually was. I like Italian, and I like it a lot. Both times, that I ate there, the food was clean, well prepared, well presented, genuine, healthy portions.....in sum, it could only be termed "outstanding". The owner is, in fact, Italian and his Canadian wife, an ex-fashion model from Milan which is where and how they met. Both were a delight and they sure know what they are doing. Service via a lady, named Sunshine (true name) was attentive and friendly yet professional. Try it for yourself.
Bad service bad food. Overpriced. Very slow.
A wonderfully, comfortable, upscale Italian restaurant. The menu is extensive. We had great service. Very pleased. Great plate presentation. Appetizer was good. Main courses were OK. What I mean by that, is we had no complaints. However as a couple who dines out often, we both agreed that the flavours for our entrees were only average, with nothing making us blurt out any superlatives during the course of the meal. It was Ok. I would have liked to experienced more wow factor. Maybe next time.
